Congrats, you've done the 2025 Adult Sailing Course, now let's start building up your time on the water!

SYC wants to help build your confidence, get you learning more skills and ultimately join our club racing fleets either crewing or even better... with a boat of your own. Sailing is a lifelong sport, so let's get started this coming July.

The program will be run over 5x Tuesday nights and will be facilitated by Irish Sailing Instructors who will help you rig, sail faster and introduce you to the different aspects of crewing and helming on our versatile single handed dinghy, the RS Pico.

Pricing: having done the Spring Adult Sailing Course, you are paying the remaining balance of your Full SYC 2025 Membership, meaning the July 5x Tuesday Tides course is FREE.

This sailing program is free to members - and as your fee for the April/May course (€130) is deductible from membership (€285) - participants have a balance of €155 to pay. This will entitle you to Full club membership for this year, as well as the follow up sailing course for 5x Tuesdays in July.

Once paid, your names will be forwarded to the membership secretary who will confirm your membership and issue you with your own key fob for entry and use of the club.

On the night, our Irish sailing Instructirs will be in ribs, coaching and instructing you to sail better and faster. Members of the GP14 dinghy fleet will also be on the water both as safety boat driver, and with a few coaching tips.

Following the course you will be encouraged to join the fleet for the rest of the Summer and continue your sailing journey as a full member of the club.

Once you join up, if you so wish, we can add you to the club whatsapp group where you’ll see people putting shout outs for crew and you can keep up to date with the comings and goings of the club.

 As with all sailing courses, there will be days when weather conditions will prevent some or all participants going on the water. This cannot be avoided and shore-based learning will be organised in lieu.
